Seasoned Remodeling Pro Brings No. 1 Flooring Brand to Richmond – Customer Service is Priority

Shaun Mealy, Richmond resident, is a Floor Coverings International franchisee. He visits customers’ homes in a Mobile Flooring Showroom stocked with thousands of flooring samples and serves clients throughout the Richmond metro area.
(Richmond, VA)-“I know exactly what my customer is looking for,” said local resident Shaun Mealy, “because for years I fought for this quality and detail working with other employers. Then I finally found a company with my exact values when it comes to customer service.” That’s how he came to launch Floor Coverings International of Richmond.

The 46-year-old Richmond resident spent 15 years in home remodeling, including 10 specializing in flooring. He also spent many years in brand development. But somewhere along the line he was put in a role that he didn’t think was a good fit for him. It’s a predicament to which almost anyone can relate. But whereas in the past, Mealy stood pat. This time he acted. And decided to finally pursue his dream.

“I had always desired to have my own business and came close several times, but the timing was never right,” Mealy said. “But this time I decided to leave instead of continuing in a role that did not align with my values. I decided it was best to run my own business where I could ensure that the values were always about providing the best for the customer.”

Floor Coverings International of Richmond, which began operations in March, serves customers throughout the Richmond metro area. Mealy believes the experience he gained in his prior career – a mix of hands-on and brand development – will serve him well in his new endeavor with the No. 1 flooring franchise in North America.

I plan to combine those experiences to give my customers outstanding service,” said Mealy, who would like to have his son join him in business sometime in the future.
